Lichenized and Lichenicolous Species of Iran

Accurate, voucher-based species identification forms the cornerstone of lichenological research in Iran, providing a verifiable and reproducible framework for biodiversity assessment, ecological studies, and conservation planning. Voucher specimens—deposited in recognized herbaria or fungaria—serve as permanent reference material for each reported taxon, enabling taxonomic revision, molecular analysis, and comparison across regions and time. In the context of Iran’s diverse and under-documented lichen flora, a systematically curated national species list is urgently needed to unify scattered records, address misidentifications, and highlight taxonomic gaps. Such a checklist would support biogeographical and climatological research, inform red-listing and environmental monitoring efforts, and facilitate integration with global biodiversity initiatives. Moreover, establishing a credible lichen flora for Iran is essential for developing conservation strategies, managing natural heritage sites, and complying with international biodiversity treaties, such as the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol. 

شناسایی علمی گونه‌های گلسنگ بر پایه‌ی نمونه‌های معتبر (Voucher-based identification)، یکی از ارکان اساسی در گلسنگ‌شناسی ایران به‌شمار می‌آید، چرا که این روش امکان بررسی و تأیید مجدد اطلاعات را توسط پژوهشگران دیگر فراهم می‌سازد و بنیانی قابل اعتماد برای مطالعات تنوع زیستی، تحقیقات بوم‌شناسی و برنامه‌ریزی‌های حفاظتی ایجاد می‌کند. نمونه‌های معتبر که در هرباریوم‌ها یا فونگاریوم‌های رسمی نگهداری می‌شوند، شواهد دائمی از وجود و شناسایی هر گونه محسوب می‌شوند و امکان بررسی‌های مجدد تاکسونومیکی، مطالعات مولکولی و مقایسه‌های زمانی و جغرافیایی را فراهم می‌آورند. با توجه به تنوع اکولوژیکی و اقلیمی ایران، و نبود یک نظام یکپارچه برای ثبت و تحلیل داده‌های گلسنگ‌ها، تهیه‌ی فهرست جامع و مستند از گونه‌های گلسنگ ایران، ضرورتی علمی و مدیریتی محسوب می‌شود. چنین فهرستی می‌تواند در شناسایی خلأهای پژوهشی، پایش آلودگی، حفاظت از گونه‌های نادر، و هم‌سویی با کنوانسیون‌ها و تعهدات بین‌المللی مانند کنوانسیون تنوع زیستی و پروتکل ناگویا نقش مهمی ایفا کند.
